1487.01 VIOLATION AND PENALTY
In the event any violation of this Ordinance shall be
committed, the owner or owners of the building or premises, upon which the
violation has been committed, any architect, builder, or contractor who assists
in the commission of such violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance,
or who fails to comply therewith or with any requirement thereof, or who shall
build in violation any of the provisions of this Ordinance, or who fails to
comply therewith or with any requirement thereof, or who shall build in
violation of any statement or plan submitted and approved thereunder, shall for
each and every violation or noncompliance be guilty of a minor misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof shall be fined, and
for each day the violation continues it shall constitute a separate
offense, provided that no such penalty shall be applicable while a
reconsideration, hearing or appeal is pending in a court of competent
jurisdiction. The imposition of
penalties prescribed herein shall not preclude the Village Attorney from
instituting an appropriate action or proceedings at law or in equity to correct
or abate the violation under the provisions of this Code.
In the event any such owner, contractor, architect, engineer,
or builder fails to supply the proper information to secure the appropriate
permits, prior to starting any work, he/she or they will be charged a fee of
double what the original permits would have cost.
